In these pieces, I took ideas from the &#8220;flower&#8221; example we in class worked on together and made expanded on the code in the &#8220;flower&#8221; example. Similar to how Molnar changed aspects one at a time and how Nees disrupted patterns, Hertlein has traces of Molnar and Nees&#8217;s ideas in her work. The three pieces are meant to evoke Hertlein&#8217;s ideas of repetition and randomness. Additionally, Hertlein was not one for expressing &#8220;profoundness.&#8221; I am not trying to elicit profoundness either; rather, I want for the pieces to be interesting to look at.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grace Hertlein liked to use repetition and randomness to make patterns that were inspired by nature.
